NewsGlobal warming alarmism is counter-productive

The BBC reports on research into people’s response to the catastrophic predictions about climate change. These dire prediction are often meant spur people into action. But the research indicates that far from motivating people to do more to combat global warming, exaggerated language leads to feelings of helplessness and apathy. In short, trying to motivate people through scaremongering does more harm than good.
