NewsBald Eagles Adapt To Suburban Life

Urbanization, and suburbanization, are usually seen as threats to wildlife. But it isn’t all one sided. Bald eagles, rebounding after their numbers hit a historic low in the 1960s, aren’t staying out in the wilderness.

Using cellphone and electricity towers as well as trees for nesting purposes the eagles are moving into the suburbs. But experts do warn there are likely to be limits on how much the birds will be able to adapt.

Still this seems to bode well for the eagles in an area where humans take up ever more space. Though it may still cause them to run into the limits of their adaptability, as land-owners use that same adaptability to argue for loosening restrictions on land use.
