NewsMcDonald’s to start using biodiesel

McDonald’s has long had a reputation as something of an anathema for environmentalists. But now the international fast-food chain seems to be turning over a new leaf, in the UK at least.
All 155 McDonald’s vehicles in the UK will be converted to run on biodiesel by next year. That biodiesel will be a mixture of rapeseed oil and McDonald’s own used cooking oil.
The move comes after a trial last year was successful. It’s estimated that 1,650 tonnes of carbon emissions will be cut each year as a result of the change.
