NewsMcDonald’s to start using biodiesel
Posted by Jarsto on Monday, 2 Jul 2007
McDonald’s has long had a reputation as something of an anathema for environmentalists. But now the international fast-food chain seems to be turning over a new leaf, in the UK at least.
All 155 McDonald’s vehicles in the UK will be converted to run on biodiesel by next year. That biodiesel will be a mixture of rapeseed oil and McDonald’s own used cooking oil.
The move comes after a trial last year was successful. It’s estimated that 1,650 tonnes of carbon emissions will be cut each year as a result of the change.

Wow! Mikey D’s has delivery in the UK?
I don’t eat at McDonald’s, but that’s a good move on their part.
Especially considering the amount of oil they use in their cooking.
