NewsUK Poll: Public Skeptical On Climate Change

The BBC carries a report about a poll which has found that the public is skeptical about the effects of global warming. Out of 2,032 UK adults questioned 56% believe scientists still question climate change. The poll also found many people believe the problem is being exaggerated for monetary gain.
The Royal Society, one of Britain’s foremost scientific bodies, has pointed out that a vast majority of climate scientists do believe anthropogenic global warming is a reality in response.
In response to the poll the vice president of the Royal Society, Sir David Read, further cautions people not to be misled by those aiming to confuse the issue, and distort science for their own ends.
