NewsMoves Underway To Recognize Penguins As Endangered Species

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has started the process of adding no fewer than ten species of penguins, including emperor penguins, to the list of endangered species. One of the reasons for the move is the expected effect of climate change on the birds’ habitat.
So far the list of species whose survival is thought to be in danger because of climate change is limited, though it already includes the emperor penguins’ antipodeans, the polar bears.
