A study published in the journal Nature today suggests anthropogenic climate change is affecting rainfall patterns around the world. The shift has seen areas including Canada, Russia and Northern Europe grow wetter, while India and parts of Africa have grown drier.
Models of the climate have long suggested such a change in rainfall patters would accompany climate change. But computer models haven’t been able to predict how much change. Now scientists have used actual statistics from 1925 to 1999 and compared them to computer models to figure which changes are down to human activities.
