Freshly GreenFreshly Green #5: The Urban Farm
Welcome to more Freshly Green!
Your hosts, Greg Peterson and Amy Godfrey, are here to bring you a fun approach to living green! Sit back and listen, and learn about what “living green” means to them, plus some easy tips for conserving that everyone can follow, because living green doesn’t mean living without.
In this episode, Amy and Greg discuss the Greg’s home, The Urban Farm. For the past 17 years, Greg’s landscaped his property with edible plants and fruit trees, all of this in a downtown area of Phoenix.
Hear a little about the the types of fruit trees that flourish in the desert climates: peaches, apples, Asian pears, guavas, figs, pomegranates, and more citrus. Greg’s chickens aren’t for eating, but they provide good fresh eggs for the Urban Farm, as well as fertilizer.
Greg considers this an environmental showcase home… hear all the reasons why!
