Greg and Amy talk with author Dr Greg Bear about real love. Real Love is unconditionally caring about the happiness of someone else, given selflessly without regard for any sense of being beholden to the return or reciprocation of those feelings. Greg Baer tells us how that relates to the compassion and awareness one might have for others and everyone around them, from humanitarian awareness to environmental awareness to compassionate caring.
The link between unconditional love and how we treat each other and the environment could be far more important than we realize.

First, Greg and Amy talk with Myron Mikita about chickens… how to raise and keep chicken in your yards and small lots. Based on the growing attendance in the Urban Farm’s classes on chicken farming, there is a growing interest in keeping own chickens, for fresh eggs and fresh chickens.
There are differing limits on how many hens there can be on personal lots, depending on municipality regulations, so check in your own area to find out.

First, Greg and Amy talk about the challenges facing water consumption, and the proliferation of the use of plastic bottles. There have been studies showing that chemical agents from the plastics manufacturing process can leech into the water if the bottles have been in the heat too long, so stainless steel bottles are an option. They also talk about the trials in Orange County CA to reuse recycled sewage water, after overcoming the mental “yuck” factor.

Next, Greg and Amy talk with Denise Phillips about Get Goingreen, and her quest to get people to use fewer toxic chemicals around the house, to benefit both pets and children. The teaching she does encourages people to actively learn more about chemicals and ingredients that are taken for granted in everyday life that might be adversely affecting the health of pets, children, and adults, and the simple steps that can be taken to make living a little cleaner and healthier.
